getcontact; It is an application that offers caller ID, spam call and SMS blocking, messaging and number tags. It is best known for its label feature that shows the names under which a phone number is registered in the contacts of other Getcontact users. The free tier has caller ID and spam protection, but the number of tags and queries is limited; Premium and tariffs are chargeable.
What is Getcontact, how does it work?
Getcontact is a caller ID and spam protection application developed by Getverify LDA. It is available on Android, iPhone and Huawei AppGallery devices. Additionally, you can log in from the browser with Getcontact Web and make inquiries over the web from the number inquiry page on getcontact.com.
The most controversial feature of the app is its tag system. Tags show the names under which a number is registered in the contacts of other Getcontact users. This data comes from the shared pool of contacts of users who have installed the app and allowed contact access.
Therefore, just because you are not using Getcontact does not mean that your number will never appear. Your number can be found in the pool through the data of another user who has saved you in his/her contact list and opened his/her contact list to Getcontact.
As of November 7, 2026, the company's own declaration on Getcontact's web number inquiry page includes approximately 90 million monthly active users, more than 100 countries, more than 950 million total downloads, a database based on more than 5 billion searches, and more than 300 million spam call information per month.
How to use Getcontact?
Getcontact installation is basically based on verifying with a phone number and granting the necessary permissions. Directory permission is critical for tags and identification features. Additional default app setting may be required for caller ID and spam protection on the Android side.
Download the Getcontact app from Google Play, App Store or AppGallery.
Register with your phone number and verify with SMS code.
Review the permissions requested by the application and grant permissions according to the features you want to use.
Make an inquiry by typing a number in the search bar or look at your own tags in the Tags section of your profile.
Turn on spam protection and caller ID settings. You may need to select Getcontact as the default caller ID or spam app on Android.
On iPhone, go to Settings, Phone, Call Blocking and Identification and enable Getcontact.
Version 8.19.0 of Getcontact on Google Play was released on October 14, 2026, and the release notes included performance improvements and bug fixes. In App Store Türkiye, the application has 4.2 points, 118 thousand reviews, 301.4 MB in size and ranks 9th in the Helpers category.

How am I registered in the directory? Does Getcontact show it?
Getcontact answers the question of how I am registered in the directory through tags. However, these results do not cover everyone's guide. It is displayed only through the data pool consisting of records of Getcontact users who have given directory access.
Therefore, the Getcontact tag is not strictly identifying information. Someone may have registered you with your old job title, an alias, or a false name. Since fraudsters also change numbers, the number query result alone should not be seen as security verification.

Is Getcontact paid, how much is the Premium price?
Getcontact can be used free of charge. The free tier includes caller ID and spam protection. The number of tag views and queries is limited; Since this limit can change within the application, it is not correct to give a fixed number.
Getcontact's Premium and tariffs page lists the monthly Premium price as 48.99 TL and the annual Premium total price as 299.99 TL as of November 7, 2026. The annual package is equivalent to 25 TL per month and there is a 49 percent discount information on the page.
The premium package offers features such as ad-free use, seeing who viewed your tags, seeing who is querying your number, anonymous query with incognito mode, premium badge and 3-month call statistics of the number.
On the same page of Getcontact, there are also tariffs based on monthly query and tag viewing limits. Tariff 1 is 39 TL for 100 queries and 10 tag views; Tariff 2 is 65 TL for 200 queries and 20 tags; Tariff 3 is 89 TL for 300 queries and 30 tags; Tariff 4 is 135 TL for 500 queries and 50 tags; Tariff 6 is 219 TL for 1000 queries and 100 tags; Tariff 10 is listed as 519 TL for 3000 queries and 300 tags. In the App Store Turkey in-app purchase list, as of November 7, 2026, Premium Monthly is 59.99 TL, Getcontact Premium is 69.00 TL, 6 Months Premium is 289.00 TL, Premium Annual is 549.00 TL, Professional Monthly is 119.99 TL and 2nd Number is 49.00 TL. Store prices are higher than the web price: for the annual Premium, the difference is approximately 249 TL. On iOS, payment is made through the App Store account, and cancellation is made through the App Store subscription settings.
Is Getcontact reliable, where does my data go?
On Getcontact's privacy page, it is stated that the application can request tracking permission for contacts, namely contacts, call management on Android, SMS management, showing on top of applications, call records, camera, location, microphone for Messenger, notifications and personalized advertising on iOS.
On Getcontact's privacy page, it is stated that personal information is not sold, the application is offered free of charge and that it works with advertising partners such as Google and Facebook. It is stated that on the same page, there is an option to edit or deactivate the profile via the Privacy Management Center, and non-users can also use the Manage Profile Privacy section.
The key question here is not just your data. When you grant contacts permission, the numbers of the people in your contacts and the names you saved them with can also be included in the pool. If you have saved a contact with a sensitive note, the possibility of that note appearing in the tag system is a serious privacy risk for the user.
In May 2022, it was claimed that the data of 700 million users was compromised on Twitter. As we stated in our news about the claim that Getcontact was hacked, this claim has not been confirmed by an official statement.
Is Getcontact banned in Türkiye?
Getcontact in Türkiye has been on the agenda with an access ban in the past. In KVKK's principle decision numbered 2017/61 dated December 21, 2017, it was announced that the data processing activities of guidance applications that query names from numbers and show how they are registered in other people's directories without explicit consent should be stopped.
Access to Getcontact was banned in Türkiye in 2018. According to the statement made by co-founder Mustafa Vardalı to Dünya newspaper in 2021, the ban was lifted by court decision after 3 years and 3 months, and the company said that its data processing practices were found to be in compliance with the legislation by the court.
How to delete number and tag from Getcontact?
In Getcontact you can hide your own tags from within the app. To completely remove your number, Getcontact's Privacy Management Center ("Manage Profile Privacy") page is used; Those who do not use the application can also open this page.
Open the Getcontact application.
Enter the profile section.
Open the Tags area.
Select the label you do not want to appear.
Confirm the option to hide the label.
To completely unlist your number, go to the Privacy Management Center and verify your phone number.

Should I use Getcontact?
Getcontact can be useful for spam protection for users who receive calls from a lot of unknown numbers. The caller ID feature offers a practical filter, especially for commercial calls and disturbing numbers.
As an editor's comment, the biggest reservation is the guide permission. When you give contacts permission to the application, you share not only your own data, but also the numbers of other people registered in your contacts and the names you give them. Therefore, if you have people in your contacts with sensitive notes, you should think twice before using Getcontact.
Alternatively, you can try the Google Phone app's built-in spam filter on Android or the Silence Unknown Callers option on iPhone. These options do not offer the Getcontact tag database, but can provide basic spam reduction without exposing your contacts to the public tag pool.
