Death toll in ship disaster off Kyrenia rises to 13

TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that the dead body of another person was found in the cruise ship disaster off the coast of Kyrenia.

Üstel said, "One more body was found during our search and rescue operations in the evening. This body we received will go to Nalbantoğlu Hospital, first the families will be contacted for identification, then the identity will be made by facial scanning and will be handed over to the family after the identification with the DNA test. In this direction, we, as the government, will send it to the relevant place after completing the necessary process from the Nicosia Embassy of the Republic of Turkey. Once again, all of us are responsible." "Thank you. May God give you patience," he said.

When asked whether there is a date for finding the missing bodies, Üstel said, "Our friends working there have been working 24/7 since Sunday. They are making a great sacrifice. It has to be done. Therefore, they are doing it. A little patience from you, because a search and rescue operation is being carried out at a depth of 554 meters."

LOSSES OF LIFE INCREASED TO 13

The number of people who lost their lives in the disaster increased to 13 with the discovery of the lifeless body of another woman during the search operations carried out off the coast of Kyrenia, while 15 missing people are being sought.
