Aynı bölümde eğitim gören Sudenaz Sönmez de yaşadıkları korku dolu anların ardından ailesine kavuştuğu için mutlu olduğunu anlattı.

Burak Can Keskin de gemiye bindiklerinde yerlerin ıslak olduğunu belirterek, "Gemi biraz ilerlediğinde durmasıyla batması bir oldu. Camı kırarak çıktık. Yoksa çıkamıyorduk, çok dalga vardı. Yüzme bilen biri bile boğulabilirdi. Herkes can derdine düşmüştü." dedi.

Keskin'in babası Cem Keskin de kendisini telefonla arayan oğlunun, "Boğuluyoruz baba, gemimiz batıyor, hakkını helal et" dediğini ifade ederek, "Saatler sonra 'Baba, kurtulduk, kıyıya aldılar' dediğinde öyle sevindik ki... Oğlumuza kavuştuğumuz için çok mutluyuz. Allah yardım edenlerden razı olsun." diye konuştu.

KKTC'deki Girne Limanı ile Mersin'deki Taşucu Limanı arasında sefer yapan hatta bulunan "Filo Jet" isimli yüksek hızlı yolcu gemisi, pazar günü öğle saatlerinde Girne'den hareket ettikten kısa süre sonra ön kısmından su almaya başlamıştı. Girne Limanı'na dönmeye çalıştığı sırada alabora olan gemiden 241 kişi sağ kurtarılmış, 9 kişinin cenazesine ulaşılmış, kayıp 19 kişi için arama çalışması başlatılmıştı.

Batan geminin enkazının denizin 550 metre derinliğinde bulunduğu bildirilmişti.
