The Government of Bahia opened registrations for 20,294 places in the CNH da Gente program, which offers the issuance of a free National Driving License (CNH) for low-income people. Two notices cover residents from all regions of the state, with different registration deadlines.

Of the total vacancies, 20 thousand are allocated to people registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico). Registration for this group will be carried out between October 1st and 15th, exclusively through the ba.gov.br portal.

Another 294 vacancies are destined for residents of the region of the Regional Traffic Circumscription (Ciretran) of Vitória da Conquista, in the southwest of Bahia. In addition to the host municipality, residents of Anagé, Barra do Choça, Encruzilhada, Tremedal and Cândido Sales can participate.

Registration for these vacancies began on September 1st and continues until the 15th. According to Detran-BA, as of this Tuesday (8), around 5.6 thousand people have already registered.

Seades will be responsible for monitoring and validating candidate information in CadÚnico. After the final result is announced, selected candidates will have 30 days to open the service at a Detran-BA unit linked to the address informed at the time of registration.

Interested parties should access the ba.gov.br portal, consult the notices and follow the instructions to register.

The CNH da Gente program was established by State Law No. 14,879, of March 2025, and aims to increase access for low-income people to licenses and, consequently, to the job market. In the first stage of the initiative, 12 thousand people were covered.

According to the state government, the planned investment for the 20 thousand places allocated to people registered with CadÚnico is around R$12.6 million.

The program is implemented by the State Department of Traffic of Bahia (Detran-BA), with the participation of medical clinics, Driver Training Centers (CFCs) and the Secretariat of Social Assistance and Development (Seades).
