Donald Trump's emissaries, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, have arrived in Moscow. According to the American president, they bring a proposal to end the war in Ukraine, the outcome of which still seems distant. The two men arrived early in the afternoon at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, where they were welcomed by the Russian envoy for economic issues, Kirill Dmitriev. They were then to meet Vladimir Putin.

For the first time since beginning their work as mediators in this conflict, Kushner and Witkoff must then travel to kyiv. But the two airports in the Ukrainian capital were hit by Russian bombings during the night from Friday to Saturday, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky who saw the Kremlin's desire to disrupt their visit. The Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitri Peskov, nevertheless affirmed that Vladimir Putin had ordered a cessation of strikes for three days on the Ukrainian capital, while the two American envoys arrived.

Earlier Saturday morning, a Russian attack on the town of Kamianske in east-central Ukraine left at least five people dead and five injured, according to regional authorities.
