Gustavo Puerta is close to making a new move in European football. Although everything indicated that the Colombian midfielder would continue his career in England, the operation contemplates that he will initially be sent to Greece to play for Olympiacos.
According to the information provided by journalist Julián Capera, there is an agreement in principle for Puerta to become a new Nottingham Forest footballer. However, the English team's plan is to loan him to the Greek team for a season, with the aim of him adding minutes and continuing his consolidation process in Europe.
Contract until 2030
The footballer born in La Victoria, Caldas, would sign a contract with Nottingham Forest until June 2030. The link would allow the English club to secure the rights of the midfielder, while the loan to Olympiacos would give him the possibility of competing regularly in a different league and gaining international experience.
Puerta's arrival could also open the door to a future partnership with another Colombian: Daniel Muñoz. The right-back was presented this Monday as a new Nottingham Forest player, so both could later coincide in the English squad.
Although there is talk of a confirmed agreement, the initial report refers to an agreement in principle. For that reason, the usual contractual and medical procedures must still be completed before the operation is officially announced by the clubs.

For the 2024-2025 campaign, the Colombian was sent to Hull City in England. There he had a more constant participation and played 31 games in the Championship, in which he scored one goal.
His good performance allowed him to make the leap to Spanish football with Racing de Santander. In his first season he contributed three goals and one assist in 33 games, a performance that helped the team achieve promotion to the top category.
Already in LaLiga, Puerta played 34 games in total and managed to make his debut in the Spanish First Division. However, his stay in the championship was short and he is now preparing to begin a new stage, first in Greece and later with Nottingham Forest.
