Halkbank and TÜBİTAK KARE Bring Together Entrepreneurs Who Will Contribute to Polar Research with Antarctica Hackathon

Halkbank and TÜBİTAK KARE bring together entrepreneurs who aim to contribute to polar research at the Antarctica Hackathon. The entrepreneur who will be determined as a result of the elimination processes will have the opportunity to participate in the 11th National Antarctic Science Expedition and test his project in the difficult geography of Antarctica. The deadline to apply for the opportunity to participate in the hackathon is September 13.

Halkbank added a new one to its projects that support the entrepreneurship ecosystem and signed a collaboration with the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey Polar Research Institute (TÜBİTAK KARE) under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The innovative idea to be selected with the Antarctic Hackathon (HackAntarctica) implemented within the scope of the cooperation will be carried to the 11th National Antarctic Science Expedition. Applications for HackAntarctica can be made through the Halkbank website until September 13.

Initiatives consisting of a maximum of 4 people, aiming to develop innovative solutions to the problems encountered in the polar regions and contribute to Turkey's polar research, can apply to the project individually or as a team. At the end of the pre-selection to be held by Halkbank and TÜBİTAK KARE teams, 10 startups will be eligible to participate in HackAntarctica. Participants will develop projects that can make field work in Antarctica more efficient, reduce their environmental footprint and have commercial success potential, with the support of mentors and experts, and appear before the jury in the 24-hour Hackathon.

GRAND PRIZE: ANTARCTIC SCIENCE EXPEDITION

One person representing the first Hackathon initiative, which will be determined by the final evaluation of the jury panel formed by Halkbank and TÜBİTAK KARE, will have the right to participate in the one-week 11th National Antarctic Science Expedition. With this collaboration, Halkbank will support Turkey's Antarctic science studies by offering the winning entrepreneur the opportunity to carry his project to one of the most challenging research areas in the world and test it there.
