According to the Egyptian official news agency MENA, Reshad received the Hamas delegation led by Hayye.
While the news did not specify where the meeting took place, it was noted that the decisions of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and the steps to complete the implementation of US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan were discussed.
It was reported that during the meeting, the Hamas delegation reiterated its commitment to the implementation of Trump's plan in order to end the troubles experienced by the people in Gaza and start the reconstruction process.
Hamas: Israel's violations are transferred to mediators
In his statement today, Hamas Spokesperson Hazim Kasım stated that the contacts in Egypt were carried out within the scope of continuing communication with mediators and diplomatic efforts.
Kasim stated that the meetings aimed to convey Israel's violations within the scope of the ceasefire to mediators and to ensure that Israel implements the road map agreed upon with the Peace Council.
Hamas sources stated that in addition to Hayye, the delegation that went to Egypt included Hamas Shura Council Chairman Mohammed Derviş, foreign affairs officer Khalid Meshaal, West Bank chief Zahir Cebbarin and Arab and Islamic Relations Office chief Basim Naim.
Kushner and Mladenov are also in Egypt
Israeli army radio also announced that US President Donald Trump's advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner and Gaza Peace Board High Representative Nikolay Mladenov came to Cairo today.
The news stated that Kushner and Mladenov would meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Egyptian intelligence officials.
Road map for the implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza
Hayye's visit to Egypt took place at a time when disagreements continued regarding the implementation of the next stages of the ceasefire in Gaza.
The "Peace Council" announced on July 31 that an agreement had been reached on a "detailed road map" for the implementation of the next stages of the ceasefire in Gaza and that Hamas had accepted it.
The plan, titled "Road map for completing the implementation of US President Donald Trump's comprehensive peace plan in Gaza", envisages the disarmament of Hamas and the gradual and simultaneous withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
The road map also includes the transfer of the administration of Gaza to a committee of Palestinian technocrats, the deployment of an international stabilization force, the transfer of weapons to the responsibility of the national committee to be formed to manage Gaza under international control, the gradual withdrawal of Israel and the initiation of the reconstruction process.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his statement on August 9, announced that they rejected the road map accepted by the "Peace Council" and approved by Hamas, and stipulated the disarmament of Hamas before withdrawing from Gaza.
Following Netanyahu's statement, Hamas reiterated its commitment to the implementation of the road map and called on the mediators to ensure that the parties comply with the agreed upon issues and to prevent violations that would disrupt the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
