Man convicted of qualified murder and attempted murder at agricultural festival in MG

According to the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais (MPMG), the defendant will also not have the right to appeal the sentence while free.

According to the complaint, the man was at an agricultural party when he began to provoke groups of people who were watching a country show. Initially, he argued with a group of three friends, who tried to avoid conflict. Then he started to provoke another group of people.

According to the MPMG, after an argument, the man walked away for a few moments, grabbed a knife he was hiding and attacked a 23-year-old young man and three other party participants. The boy died after being taken to the hospital. The other victims survived.

During the trial, the jurors recognized the qualifications of futile motive, cruel means, use of asphyxiation, common danger and resources that made it difficult for the victims to defend themselves.

At the time, the Military Police reported that witnesses reported that the suspect, dressed in typical cowboy clothing, began the attacks after an argument near one of the exhibition park's gates. According to the investigation, he hid the knife used in the crime inside his boot.

After the attacks, the man was restrained by people who were at the scene until the Military Police arrived. The weapon used in the crime was seized, and the suspect was arrested red-handed.
