Man is stabbed to death by teenage stepson in Sousa after violating protective measure

The stepfather killed by a 15-year-old teenager, whose identity was not disclosed, in the city of Sousa, in the Sertão da Paraíba, repeatedly failed to comply with protective measures imposed to protect the young man's mother. The information was confirmed to TV Paraíba by the delegate investigating the case, Patrícia Forny.

According to the delegate, the stepfather made frequent use of alcoholic beverages and also, repeatedly, committed domestic violence against women, even under a valid and ongoing protective measure.

"Everything indicates that there were successive non-compliances. These non-compliances were not reported (to the police authority) and it is important to emphasize, non-compliance with a protective measure is not nonsense, because it can cause extremely serious harm to the woman who has been a victim of violence, or an unexpected consequence at the moment," he said.

The delegate also reported that in addition to the 15-year-old teenager, there was also another underage child in the residence where the man attacked her. At the time, the suspicion is that the stepfather went to demand money from the woman. The Civil Police reported that he was using narcotics.

Investigations showed that the young man used a knife to hit the man's artery, who succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

Until the last update of this report, the teenager had not been located.

The death

According to the police, the young man had witnessed his stepfather choking his mother during an argument. The content of the argument between the stepfather and the woman was not disclosed. At the time of the argument, the woman would have asked her son for help, who intervened in the conflict.

After the incident, teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) were called and the stepfather's death was confirmed at the scene of the crime. The woman was treated and taken to the Sousa Regional Hospital. The woman's condition was not disclosed.
