Man dies in accident involving three cars on BR-116, in Governador Valadares

A man died in an accident involving three cars on BR-116, in Governador Valadares, at the exit for Teófilo Otoni. The crash left other victims injured, who were rescued by Samu teams and taken to medical care.

According to information provided by rescuers, one of the vehicles was heading towards Governador Valadares when the driver attempted to overtake. At that moment, the car would have hit the back of another car, lost steering control and collided head-on with a third vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

In total, 11 people were involved in the accident. The victim who died was the driver of one of the cars that was hit. The other occupants of that vehicle suffered injuries and complained of abdominal and arm pain. One of the passengers had an elbow injury.

In the other car that was hit there were four children and an adult. According to the rescuers, everyone was conscious and oriented. The driver of the vehicle initially identified as responsible for the accident was also conscious and oriented.

The injured victims received care from Samu teams and were taken to a health unit. Their health status was not reported. Forensics were also on site to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
