A train driver is hospitalized after three cars collide with his train in Martorell

A Renfe Mercancías driver has been taken to hospital after three wagons loaded with cereal derailed and collided with the locomotive in which the victim was located, on a railway section in the Martorell area (Barcelona).

According to Cadena SER, the accident occurred when three freight cars left the tracks and ended up hitting a Renfe Mercancías series 253 locomotive, whose cars derailed after the collision.

Renfe assures that the driver has been transferred to a hospital per protocol although he is in good condition. According to Adif, the accident has not caused any railway damage.
