Immigrant smuggling operation in 33 provinces by the Ministry of Internal Affairs: 47 arrests

The Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out operations in 33 provinces within the scope of combating immigrant smuggling; He announced that 51 suspects were caught and 47 were arrested.

According to the statement made on the ministry's virtual media account; Under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Department of Combating Immigrant Smuggling and Human Trafficking, operations were organized in 33 provinces by Provincial Gendarmerie Commands within the scope of combating immigrant smuggling. In the operations carried out; As a result of the work carried out from the air by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and from the land by the public order, highway and commando teams, 51 suspects were caught. 47 of the suspects were arrested, and judicial control provisions were applied to 4 of them. As a result of the operations, 143 vehicles and 7 boats and boat engines were seized. In addition, 2 thousand 822 irregular immigrants trying to go abroad illegally were caught and handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management and deportation procedures were initiated.

The statement also said, "We continue our fight against the organizers of irregular migration and immigrant smuggling for the peace, security and public order of our country with determination, with an understanding that is based on human rights, does not compromise on public order and protects our national interests."
