Vatican, Pope Leo XIV's summit on the family begins today

From 7 to 14 October, the Vatican hosts a summit on the family convened by Pope Leo XIV ten years after Pope Francis' apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia. 187 representatives are participating, including presidents of the world Episcopal Conferences, heads of the Eastern Churches and 11 families from five continents. The objective is mutual listening and synodal discernment on how to announce the Gospel to families today, in light of cultural changes and the decline in religious marriages in various countries.
