Influencer drove a car to Morskie Oko. Internet storm

Photos from Morskie Oko published by a Ukrainian influencer have caused an internet storm. He drove a sports car into an area where private vehicles are banned. The man apologized for his behavior and admitted he did not notice the sign.

Ukrainian influencer Andriy Gavryliv boasted about his visit to Morskie Oko on his social media. He reached it with a sports Corvette, even though a ban on private vehicles is in force in the Tatra National Park.

The photos and videos show the influencer and a woman accompanying him on the shore of the lake, with the car they arrived in parked in the background. The post quickly circulated on social media, provoking reactions from internet users pointing out the violation of the rules in force in the Tatras.

Morskie Oko is located in a protected area where private cars are prohibited. The only way to get to the vicinity of the lake is by public transport or on foot.

We have sent questions regarding the incident to the Tatra National Park, but we have not yet received a response.

The influencer has been punished

After a wave of criticism, Gavryliv published a video in which he tried to explain the situation. He explained that he is just a tourist and did not want to do anything wrong. "I didn't notice the sign," he said, adding that he only realized on site that the route led directly to Morskie Oko.

The influencer apologized for his behavior. According to him, on the way back, he was stopped and fined 100 PLN and received 8 penalty points.

In his post, he also added that he now assesses the whole situation differently and if he could turn back time, he would choose the walking route. "I understand how inappropriate it was to drive there by car," he wrote.

"I know I did wrong by going there because it's a nature reserve," he said.

He also announced that if he returns to the Tatras, he will do so in accordance with the rules - on foot.
