Republic Day message from England's King Charles

King Charles III of England sent a congratulatory message to President Erdoğan on the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.

In the message shared by the British Embassy in Ankara on the social media platform X, Charles, together with his wife Queen Camilla, congratulated Erdogan and the citizens of the Republic of Türkiye on the Republic Day.

Emphasizing the importance of relations between Türkiye and England, Charles used the following expressions in his message:

“On the occasion of your Republic Day, my wife and I offer our sincere congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency and the citizens of the Republic of Turkey.”

Expressing his satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries, Charles said, "This special day provides a valuable opportunity to highlight the enduring friendship between our nations."

Stating that he wishes to further strengthen bilateral relations, Charles emphasized his determination to develop closer cooperation with Türkiye in the coming years.

In his message, King Charles also devoted extensive space to the fight against climate change and the protection of nature.

Stating that he believes that the two countries will continue to work together to solve common global problems, Charles drew attention to Türkiye's preparations for COP31.

Charles expressed his appreciation for Türkiye's work regarding the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31), which is planned to be held in Antalya.

In his message, he said, "As Türkiye prepares to host COP31 in Antalya, I appreciate the leadership your country has shown in bringing together the world's countries to combat climate change, advance global efforts towards sustainability and protection of our natural environment."

King Charles completed his Republic Day message with his good wishes for Türkiye.

“My wife and I wish you and all the Turkish people peace, prosperity and well-being throughout the next year,” Charles said.
