Britain has just over 1,000 days to prepare for war, according to the UK's Defense Secretary

British Defense Minister Wes Streeting stated that the military capacities and war economies of Britain's enemies will reach a level where they can attack the country in 2030, and noted that Britain has a little more than 1,000 days to prepare for war.

In his article in The Telegraph newspaper, Streeting listed the threats facing England, emphasizing that the increasing use of technology points to a return to the dangerous periods of the 20th century.

Listing Russia's border violations at sea, wars, sabotage, terrorism and interventions affecting daily life among these, Streeting explained that his duty as Minister of Defense is to keep the country safe.

Stating that "My priority as the Minister is to ensure that our country is ready for war and wins", Streeting also stated that they have taken steps to make the enemies think twice before attacking England.

Streeting pointed out that his party, which came to power in 2024, took over the smallest British army since the Napoleonic Wars between 1803 and 1815, and stated that the previous Conservative Party government could not adequately finance the armed forces and that all weapons programs faced budget overruns and delays.

Emphasizing that the ruling Labor Party will meet NATO defense spending targets, Streeting stated that despite all the developments, the British army is not where it should be.

Pointing out the importance of strengthening relations with allies as well as strengthening the army, Streeting said, "We must strengthen relations especially with NATO and the USA. By restoring our defense industry, we must be more creative and produce more than our enemies." shared his opinion.

Noting that the enemies' intention to harm England is not new, Streeting said, "The only thing that has changed is their capacity. Their power and war economy will bring them to a point where they will attack us in 2030. This gives us just over 1000 days to complete our mission. We must be ready to fight and win together with our allies. Our government is working to ensure that this mission is fulfilled." he said.
