Interior will financially compensate police and civil guards for their work in the Ceuta migration crisis

The Ministry of the Interior will financially compensate the police and civil guards who are carrying out their work in Ceuta in the migratory crisis that the autonomous city is suffering after the massive entry of immigrants on July 30 and 31. This has been assured to the Efe agency by sources from the department headed by Fernando Grande-Marlaska, who have confirmed the decision to grant this bonus. The amount of this compensation will be decided when the emergency ends, the same sources have specified.

Police unions and associations of civil guards have been demanding for days an economic allocation to compensate for the increase in the workload that this crisis has meant, both for the staff of the two forces in Ceuta and for the agents who have moved to reinforce them. For its part, the Unified Association of Spanish Military (AUME) has demanded from the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, similar compensation for the members of the armed forces deployed in the autonomous city.
