Iran to the USA: We will not bow down in the face of threats

Regarding the attack threats coming from the USA, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi said, "We will not bow down in the face of threats." he said.

Araqchi answered journalists' questions on the margins of the 52nd Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, held in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.

Stating that his country is ready to defend itself, Arakchi said, "We will not bow down in the face of threats. Our preparedness to defend ourselves is higher than in previous wars. We have gained valuable experience and we are fully capable of defending ourselves." he said.

While Arakchi stated that they were prepared for a new attack, he also reiterated the message that they were ready for diplomacy, noting that his country presented its 7-stage, 7-day plan in New York and expressed it in the same way at the OIC meeting.

Stating that the 7-day plan presented was quite clear, Arakçi said:

"The US side has conveyed its views on the 7-day plan and we are examining it. Iran's plan is still on the table. If there was real sincerity in the US, which there is not, the path is completely clear. The way to open the Strait of Hormuz is also very clear. If there is a will in the US to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, we believe that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened if the conditions are met within a few days."
