Iranian army announced that a ship caught fire in the east of the Strait of Hormuz

Fars News Agency published the statement made by the Iranian Navy on the subject.

In the statement, it was stated that Navy teams detected an oil tanker on fire in the area defined as the "restricted zone" while performing patrol duty in the east of the Strait of Hormuz.

It was stated that the oil tanker did not attempt any coordination with the Iranian Navy, turned off its tracking system and tried to pass through the "forbidden zone" in the east of the Bosphorus.

No information was shared about whether the tanker in question was attacked or experienced a technical problem.

The Iranian Navy had previously announced that a fire broke out on a tanker in almost the same region.
