Iran sets terms for future conflict resolution, says MP
TEHRAN, May 17. /TASS/. Iran, as the victorious side in the standoff with Israel and the US, is determining the terms of a future conflict resolution, Mohammad Saleh Jokar, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Interior Affairs Committee, said, stressing that the 10-point plan is a "red line" for the Islamic Republic.
"The terms are determined by the country that won on the battlefield, not by the government of a country that failed, missed its goals, and brought only destruction. Therefore, the Americans must accept our terms," he said in an interview with the Mehr news agency.
Jokar added that Iran's 10 points are a "red line for any negotiations."
The lawmaker noted that Iran "never trusted the US," and his country has no other option but to "become stronger." He also called on American troops to leave the region.
In April, Iran’s state television reported that Tehran had set 10 conditions for a ceasefire. These included the principle of non-aggression, Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, uranium enrichment on the territory of the Islamic Republic, the lifting of primary and secondary sanctions, compensation payments, and the withdrawal of American forces from the region.
