In its updated statement, Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKİ) shared the recent change in dam occupancy rates in Istanbul. So, what is the occupancy rate of Istanbul dam on September 13, 2026?

CURRENT DAM OCCUPANCY RATES 13 SEPTEMBER 2026

According to the official data shared by İSKİ as of Sunday, September 13, 2026, the general average occupancy rate of the dams that meet Istanbul's water needs has decreased to 39.97 percent. The fact that the general average, measured as 58.68 percent in mid-July, entered a rapid downward trend with the beginning of September, clearly reveals the high evaporation and increased water consumption caused by summer heat.

While the Ömerli and Elmalı dams on the Anatolian Side continue to bear the city's water load, the occupancy rates in the western basins such as Istrancalar, Pabuçdere and Sazlıdere on the European Side have fallen below critical levels.

Ömerli Dam: 54.99 percent

Darlık Dam: 58.92 percent

Elmalı Dam: 67.54 percent

Terkos Dam: 35.26 percent

Alibey Dam: 37.7 percent

Büyükçekmece Dam: 28.52 percent

Sazlıdere Dam: 23.09 percent

Istrancalar Dam: 26.45 percent

Kazandere Dam: 16.05 percent

Pabuçdere Dam: 6.61 percent
