Investigation into the allegations of Özgür Çelik from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office

Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation into the allegations made by YENİ Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik in his statements following the Üsküdar Deputy Mayor election.

In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that Çelik claimed that Üsküdar Municipal Council Member Ayhan Aydın, who resigned from the CHP and joined the AKP, called him and said, "The prosecutor threatened me with arrest. My son and my wife are disabled, who will take care of them? I surrendered to them because there was no one to take care of them."

In the statement, it was reported that an ex officio investigation was launched regarding Çelik's allegations.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that Ayhan Aydın, whose name was mentioned in Çelik's statements, was instructed to be made available to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to testify regarding the allegations.

In his statement following the Üsküdar Deputy Mayor election today, Çelik claimed that Ayhan Aydın called him after his switch to AKP and said that he was crying and threatened with arrest by the prosecutor.
