Preparation to assassinate business people in Istanbul: 4 suspects caught

Istanbul Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate teams started working to capture the suspects after the armed attacks in Kağıthane and Eyüpsultan. An operation was carried out on the cell houses identified during field work on November 3.

B.A., S.D., T.İ. in operations. and A.E. 4 suspects named were detained. During the searches carried out in the houses where the suspects stayed, 1 AK-47 long-barreled rifle, 3 magazines for the rifle and 50 7.62 millimeter cartridges were seized. In addition, 1 unlicensed 9 millimeter gun, 2 magazines and 71 cartridges were seized.

ALLEGED ARMED ATTACK ON BUSINESS PEOPLE

It was determined that the suspects, who were questioned at the Homicide Bureau, came from outside the province and were preparing for an action in the house they rented. It was claimed that the suspects were planning an armed attack against business people, as well as well-known people from sports, arts and social life.

During the investigation, it was learned that B.A. had a wanted record, S.D. had 4 wanted records and a finalized prison sentence of 12 years and 15 months, T.İ. had 2 wanted records and a finalized prison sentence of 7 years and 6 months, and A.E. had 4 wanted records, a finalized prison sentence of 10 years, 32 months and 99 days and 31 criminal records.
