There was a heavy shower in Istanbul in the evening.

Thunderstorms negatively affected life in some districts. The rain, which started in the evening, increased in intensity in the form of thunderstorms in some districts.

Citizens using public transportation took shelter under the stops due to the downpour. Some citizens opened their umbrellas to protect themselves from the rain.

Those who were caught unprepared for the downpour waited for a while under the awnings of their workplaces and at the entrances of the buildings.

Puddles of water formed in some streets and avenues throughout the city after the downpour.

Vehicles had difficulty moving forward in Üsküdar, Pendik, Sultanbeyli, Çekmeköy, Beykoz, Küçükçekmece, Maltepe, Sultangazi, Fatih, Bahçelievler, Beylikdüzü, Bağcılar and Eyüpsultan because the streets were filled with water.

Meanwhile, motorcyclists and citizens passing by had a hard time.

Tourists who did not mind the rain continued to walk in Taksim Square and Istiklal Street.

Due to the effect of the rain, traffic accidents with damage occurred on some streets.

According to IMM CepTrafik application data, traffic density in the city overall and on the Anatolian and European sides was measured as 89 percent.

On the other hand, Istanbul Governorship warned for heavy rain that will be effective starting from the morning today.

According to the governorship's statement, intermittent and locally heavy showers and occasional thunderstorms are expected starting from the morning hours of Wednesday, 04.11.2026.

In the statement, it was said, "The wind is expected to blow strong (40-60 km/h) from the north after noon and in places as a short-term storm (50-70 km/h). With heavy rain, one should be careful and cautious against negativities such as floods, floods, transportation disruptions, landslides and lightning."
