Traffic density in Istanbul reached 80 percent

In the evening hours of the first working day of the week in Istanbul, traffic density reached 80 percent due to the rain.

Traffic starts in Uzunçayır on the D-100 highway on the Anatolian Side and reaches Tuzla İçmeler Bridge. In the opposite direction, the density starts from the Kartal Bridge and continues until the Eurasia Tunnel.

The traffic, which starts at the Tuzla location on the TEM Highway, intensifies from Sancaktepe onwards and continues until Çamlıca Tollbooths.

While there is traffic congestion on the roads connecting to Fatih Sultan Mehmet and 15 July Martyrs Bridge, vehicles are moving slowly on the Şile Highway and Altunizade.

While the traffic density, which starts on Idealtepe Coastal Road, continues until Kadıköy, congestion is also observed in both directions between Üsküdar and Beykoz.

EUROPEAN SIDE

On the European Side, traffic starts from the 15 July Martyrs Bridge in the Edirne direction of the D-100 highway and continues intensively to Sefaköy and Haramidere via the Golden Horn Bridge, Edirnekapı and Cevizlibağ.

On the TEM Highway, there is congestion from İSTOÇ location to Mahmutbey Toll Booths and from Bahçeşehir location to Edirne direction.

Traffic congestion is also observed on Hadımköy connection road, Basın Ekspres Road, O-3 and Otogar-Hal road.

It was observed that vehicles had difficulty in moving on some roads throughout the city due to the rain.

On the other hand, there is also passenger density at metro, metrobus, tram and bus stops.

While there is congestion especially in transfer centers such as Zincirlikuyu, Uzunçayır, Altunizade, Yenibosna, Cevizlibağ and Zeytinburnu, citizens are waiting in line to get on public transportation.

According to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Pocket Traffic Map data, traffic density throughout the city reached 80 percent as of 19:00.

Density was measured as 85 percent on the Anatolian Side and 76 percent on the European Side.
