Traffic density in Istanbul reached 80 percent

Traffic density has increased on the D-100 Highway, TEM Highway and connection roads and bridge crossings on the Anatolian and European sides in the megacity since noon.

Traffic flow slowed down, especially on the connection roads of the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and in some parts of the TEM Highway and D-100 Highway.

While there was congestion on the main arteries around Üsküdar, Ümraniye and Ataşehir on the Anatolian Side, there was traffic congestion on the connection roads of the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.

Vehicles are also slow in some sections of the D-100 Highway around Kadıköy, Maltepe and Kartal.

Traffic flow also slowed down in some sections of the TEM Highway around Seyrantepe and Hasdal.

With the traffic density, crowds also formed at public transportation stops.

According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) traffic density map, the citywide density has increased to 80 percent. Density was measured as 89 percent on the Anatolian Side and 72 percent on the European Side.
