Fist attack on retired old man during road rage in Istanbul

The incident took place on Friday, September 25, at 18.30 in Çağlayan District. According to the information obtained, while retired Fahri Region was walking on the road to go to a friend's house, the student bus came behind him, heading in the same direction. Allegedly, the shuttle driver called out to Region, asking him to get off the road. While the region continued walking, Abdullah A., who was stated to be the parent of one of the students in the bus, got out of the vehicle.

HE ATTACKED WITH HIS FIST; HE FALLED AND HIS HIP BREAKED

He punched Abdullah A. Region on the grounds that he did not give way to the vehicle and then pushed him. As the area fell to the pavement, the suspect got back into the bus. The shuttle vehicle, including the students, left the scene. Upon notice, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured Region was taken to the hospital by ambulance. It was learned that Region, whose hip was broken and had stitches on his opened eyebrow, was not in a life-threatening situation.

HE WAS RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL

Kağıthane Patrol Teams Headquarters teams arrived at the scene and determined the license plate of the service vehicle by examining the security camera footage. The suspect, Abdullah A., whose identity was identified during ongoing studies, was caught. Abdullah A. was taken into custody and taken to the police station. After the procedures, the suspect was released on condition of judicial control by the court to which he was referred.

'HE PUNCHED MY EYEWORD AND BLOWN ME'

Fahri Region, who is being treated at home, said, "I was going to my friend's house to drink coffee. On the way, the shuttle minibus was coming behind me. I didn't see it, I didn't hear it. I didn't hear a horn or anything. It was coming behind me. For a while, I thought the student was letting the child off, there are little kids going to primary school, I thought he was going to let him off. I looked at where my brother was, a big man came, punched me in the eyebrow, threw me. For example, I may be deaf, I may not have heard. He crushed me. Is it necessary? Someone got out of the middle door. I found myself on the ground. My right side hit the pavement with that punch. I have been miserable since then. Abdullah A.'s statement at the police station was revealed. Abdullah A., in his statement, said, "On September 25, my grandchild's shuttle driver sent us a live location and I saw him set off. Then, when I followed the live location, I noticed that the shuttle driver had stopped. Then I waited for about 15-30 minutes and called the shuttle driver and asked about the situation. When I met with the shuttle driver, he told me that he was trying to repair the turbo pipe of the car that had burst and that he would inform me about the issue. After a while, I saw that the shuttle started to move again and I started waiting to pick up my grandchild from the shuttle. Then I noticed that the shuttle stopped near my house and Since my house was close to me, I walked to the service to pick up my grandchild. When I went to the service, I noticed that the service vehicle was repaired and was about to move again. Since the house was close, I offered to the service driver to go home with him. Then, while we were driving, I noticed that there was a person walking in the middle of the road, even though there was a pavement in a congested area. The service driver first honked his horn to get out of the way, but continued walking in the middle of the road, putting one hand on his waist and waving his other hand above. "I don't care." Then we continued like this for about 15 meters and the children in the bus started to get restless and cry because they were on the road for a long time. I then got out of the bus and asked Fahri Region, "What are you doing?" Then, I hugged Fahri Region and carried him to the side of the road. While I was leaving him, he lost his balance and collapsed on the side of the road. "I definitely didn't mean to push him, drop him, or injure him," he said.

Abdullah A. continued his statement: "When Fahri Region collapsed, I wanted to check if there was anything wrong and I lifted him up from the ground. Then, when I asked him if he was okay, he looked at me as if saying 'I'm fine'. At that time, when my grandson tried to get off the shuttle, I said to Fahri Region, 'I'm leaving my grandson and coming' and took my grandson home. When I returned, a few people from the surrounding area were waiting for him. I also thought that he might have relatives and that they might do something to me and that they called the police." "I waited on the opposite sidewalk for a while because I heard it. Meanwhile, police teams and ambulance came and took Fahri Region to the hospital. I regret and feel remorse for the incident."
