A challenging Monday awaits Istanbul... Galatasaray - Fenerbahçe derby and Beşiktaş match will be played on the same day

The 9th week of the Super League will start with the Alanyaspor - Kocaelispor match.

The busiest night of the week will be Monday. On Monday evening, October 26, 2026, Beşiktaş will host Başakşehir at 19.00, and then Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe will meet in the derby at 21.30.

LIFE WILL STOP ON THE EUROPEAN SIDE

Since the stadiums are located in the center of the city, this density is expected to drag Istanbul into chaos.

With the arrival of the winter months, traffic, which is already jammed during rush hours, will become even heavier with the Beşiktaş - Başakşehir matches in Dolmabahçe and Galatasaray - Fenerbahçe matches in Seyrantepe.

SECURITY CONCERN IS AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL

Approximately 10 thousand police officers were assigned to the last Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe match. The fact that Beşiktaş also has a match on the same day shows that a busy work awaits the police officers.

The derby will start shortly after the Beşiktaş - Başakşehir match ends. There has been no official statement yet on how the safety of fans who will meet on public transportation will be ensured.
