Swimming is prohibited in 3 districts of Istanbul

Swimming was banned for 2 days in Beykoz, Sarıyer and Şile districts of Istanbul.

In the statement made by the Beykoz District Governorate, it was stated that swimming in the coasts, beaches and bays on the Black Sea coast within the district borders was prohibited on Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10, in accordance with the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442, due to the high wave length.

In the statement made by Sarıyer District Governorate, it was noted that in line with the latest meteorological evaluations, it was decided to close Kısırkaya Public Beach within the district borders to the entrance in order to avoid any negativities in terms of life safety, since it was evaluated that the wavelength would be high on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

In the statement made by Şile District Governorship, it was stated that the wind will blow from the north wind on Wednesday and Thursday and the following statements were made:

"Swimming in the sea is prohibited in our district, except for the controlled areas established by lifeguards at Ayazma Beach (starting from the filling area within the influence of the Şile harbor breakwater and up to the sailing beach operation, which is 500 meters away) and Ağva beach (200 meters from the lighthouse breakwater located on the stream), except for the controlled areas established by lifeguards. Both beaches will be evacuated as of 18.00."
