Response to the forest fire in Mersin's Bozyazı district continues

A fire broke out in the forest area above the banana greenhouses in Tekeli District Aksaz location for an unknown reason.

Upon notice, 2 planes, 5 helicopters, 66 land vehicles and 230 personnel were directed to the region.

In order to support the work, 10 water trucks, 3 water supply vehicles, 2 excavators, 2 dozers and 3 trailers were sent to the fire scene.

It was reported that the energy of the fire was reduced with the intervention of the teams.

Air and land efforts continue to control the flames.

Visit from AK Party Provincial Chairman Aldemir

According to the statement made by the AK Party Mersin Provincial Presidency, Provincial Chairman Adem Aldemir inspected the fire area with his entourage.

Aldemir, whose views were included in the statements, stated that they hoped the fire would be brought under control as soon as possible.

Expressing their sadness about the forest fire, Aldemir said:

"From the first moment the fire started, all institutions of our state took action quickly. Our forest department, fire brigade and all our teams are struggling to control the fire from the air and on the ground. Our priority is life safety and getting the fire under control as soon as possible. I wish our citizens of Bozyazı get well soon. Our state is on the field with all its resources. Hopefully, the fire will be under control as soon as possible."
