Fire in Thusis, Switzerland: 5 missing, 8 injured

A fire broke out at midnight in the city of Thusis, in the canton of Graubüsü, Switzerland, and caused panic. While the building containing the restaurant and apartments was completely burned down in flames, it was reported that 5 people were not heard from and 8 people were injured.

100 FIREMEN WERE DISPATCHED

The fire started shortly after midnight on Thursday night. Approximately 100 firefighters were dispatched to the area after the flames completely surrounded the building in a short time. It was stated that while the stairs of the building collapsed due to the severity of the fire, the roof was opened with the help of a crane so that the teams could intervene.

14 PEOPLE WERE SURVIVED FROM THE FLAMES

14 people in the building managed to escape the fire with their own means. However, 8 people were injured. It was reported that 2 of the injured were in serious condition and the other injured were being treated by medical teams.

The biggest concern after the fire was the 5 people in the building who have not been heard from yet. It was reported that search and rescue teams continue their efforts to reach the missing people.

BUILDING COMPLETELY BURNED

The building engulfed in flames was a building that contained residences as well as a restaurant. While the building became completely unusable after the fire, fire crews continued their work at the scene.

The Canton of Grisons Police and the prosecutor's office launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Authorities reported that it may take a few days to obtain more comprehensive findings about the incident.
