The prescription book of a Greek pharmacist from 1922 is preserved in the family archive in Izmir.

"My grandfather started running the pharmacy in 1923, but a Greek pharmacist was serving in the same place in 1922. A prescription record book belonging to him is still in our family. The Greek pharmacist recorded prescriptions until September 8, 1922, but there was no September 9 or later. This is an evidence document indicating the meaning and importance of the date of September 9, 1922."

Stating that the Greek pharmacist kept the notebook in French and Latin, Dermancı said, "The Greek pharmacist was serving people from all classes, including Greeks and Armenians, in parallel with the current population of Izmir. My grandfather served the region from where the Greek pharmacist left off, starting from 1923."

Stating that the Greek pharmacist's grandchildren visited the pharmacy, Dermancı said, "One of his grandchildren was a pharmacist, he is not a private pharmacist, but he works in other areas of the sector. They visited 2-3 times. They saw the notebook and took their photos. Even though our communication with them is limited, we still keep in touch. The last time they were in Turkey was 1 week and 10 days ago and they visited us again. They came for the first time 20 years ago, in 2006. They did not have negative feelings, they spent time and effort to connect with their past." "That's what I felt. They went after the information and we helped as much as we could. The notebook was especially important to them," he said.
