Operation in Bayraklı Municipality in Izmir: 45 detained

In the statement made by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the operation carried out against Bayraklı Municipality in Izmir, the following statements were made:

"Within the scope of the joint studies carried out by the Financial Crimes Branch Directorate of the Izmir Provincial Police Department and the Intelligence Branch Directorate, under the coordination of our Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation decision was taken upon obtaining evidence regarding the crimes of 'Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing a Crime', 'Bribery' and 'Tender Rigging' in the investigation carried out against the structure that is considered to have acted under the leadership of the former Bayraklı Mayor Serdar Sandal.

Within the scope of the investigation; In line with the Court of Accounts reports, MASAK reports, technical and physical studies, and the information and documents obtained, detention orders were issued for a total of 48 suspects, including the former Mayor of Bayraklı, the managers and employees who served in the municipality and municipal companies, and the officials and owners of various companies.

In order to capture the suspects and seize criminal elements, a simultaneous operation was carried out under the coordination of our Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and 45 suspects were detained. Efforts to capture the suspects and carry out searches and seizures at addresses continue. The investigation is being carried out meticulously and multifacetedly in order to reveal the material truth in all its aspects.

It was reported that the procedures of the detained names at the police are continuing.
