James Rodriguez retired from the Colombian National Team

Colombian football player James Rodriguez announced that he is ending his national team career at the age of 35.

Stating that he has had an important goal since the first day he wore the national team jersey, James Rodriguez used the following expressions in his farewell message:

"From the first day I stepped into the national team, there was only one clear thought in my mind: One day, when I say goodbye, I will be able to feel that I left this jersey much higher than where I bought it.

I wanted to contribute something, leave a deep mark and make Colombia believe that they can compete head to head with any team in the world. When I look back today and look at the progress we have made, I feel like I have achieved this.

This wasn't just my success; "It was the work of a great generation, my teammates and a whole country that started to dream big again."
