Järnkrok returns to Brynäs after four years in Toronto

Järnkrok signed this week after spending the last four years with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

A heavily reinforced Brynäs is mentioned among the favorites in this year's SHL, where, however, a handful of teams are seen as potential gold candidates.

Against Djurgården in a training match at Hovet in front of just over 2,000 spectators, however, it was not a brilliant game from Brynäs or the comebacking Järnkrok, who won SM gold with the club in 2012.

- For my part, it was a bit of a struggle and I have to try to find the right way and get into the stuff, says Järnkrok, who was faithful to Brynäs when he played in Sweden before the professional adventure in North America.

Toughest possible premiere

He has had one and a half training sessions with Gävleklubben, where he has now been reunited with his gold chain mates from 2012: Johan Larsson and Jakob Silfverberg.

- It was great fun, then we can do better. We will get more training and one more match and see if we can find each other a little better and do everything a little faster, maybe, says Järnkrok.

Järnkrok also knows Djurgården's goalkeeper Magnus Hellberg, 35, well.

- I would have liked to score on him, thinks Järnkrok.

Brynäs starts the SHL by facing the Swedish champion Skellefteå away on September 19.
