NEW DELHI: At least 10 students of Jawaharlal Nehru University have accused a professor of sexual harassment, TOI has learned. The university's internal complaints committee is investigating the matter, sources said. The complaints were submitted around a month ago, according to officials aware of the proceedings. It is alleged that the professor, who lives on campus, invited students to his house for gatherings and made sexual advances, sources said. Some complaints also allege that he made lewd or inappropriate remarks during classes, sources said. Senior students came forward with similar allegations after a more recent complaint was made against the professor, according to officials.Not aware of any complaints: Prof ICC declined to comment on the complaints, saying the matter was internal and was under investigation. JNU VC Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit told TOI that allegations of sexual harassment are dealt with by ICC and VC is not a member of the body. Asked if he had appeared before ICC or recorded a statement, the professor in question said he was not aware of any complaints, and that the allegations against him were false.
