Junts assures that the PSOE views its proposals on housing favorably

The spokesperson for Junts in Congress, Miriam Nogueras, assured this Friday that the PSOE views Junts' proposals for the housing decree "favorably", among which are tax credits for owners affected by the extension of rents.

"What happened this week is that the Socialist Party itself has told us that they are studying this royal decree that we have worked on, which in the end is to group together those policies that we have been defending and registering in Congress for months," he said in an interview on the SER channel.

From Junts they have been advocating to implement measures such as tax relief on rents for tenants and part of the mortgage payment for small holders; the reestablishment of savings accounts for home purchases; or encourage the construction of new homes and put existing ones on the market. According to various media, these measures also include the suspension of evictions in homes owned by vulture funds or the prohibition of these funds from purchasing more homes.

Asked if she believes that Podemos will vote against the decree, Nogueras has expressed that she refuses "to imagine that there is any politician who could refuse policies that could work."

Junts already admitted this Thursday that it maintains a path of negotiation with the Government on housing matters and that two weeks ago it handed over its proposals to President Pedro Sánchez. And now, after the eviction of Maricarmen, the 87-year-old woman who had been living in an old rent regime for seven decades, the independentists assure that the PSOE is already studying them.
