Fire in Kepez was taken under control, residents panicked

A fire broke out in the Şelale District of Kepez district, in the bush surrounded by detached houses and buildings, around 12:00, for an unknown reason. Despite the intervention of those who saw the flames, the fire grew under the influence of the wind. Upon notice, fire brigade and forestry teams were dispatched to the region.

Meanwhile, the flames reached the front of the houses, causing anxiety in the surrounding area. The police warned those living in the surrounding houses to go out as a precaution. Some people who left their homes took their pets with them. Neighborhood residents watered the dry grass with garden hoses to prevent it from burning. The fire, which damaged many trees and items in the gardens of some houses, was brought under control with approximately 1 hour of intervention.

'GOD PROTECTED OUR HOME AND HEAVEN'

Havva Karaman, who panicked when the flames surrounded her house, cried for a long time in her chair. His neighbors consoled Karaman by saying that the fire did not reach his house. Havva Karaman said, "I have a house next to the flames. Whoever burned it should be blinded. My arm was broken 2 months ago. I was staying with my daughter. This fire started. God protected our house and our hearth, otherwise where would I go?"

Ramazan Akbiliç, a resident of the neighborhood, said, "Our aunt Havva had a house in the back. We thought she was at home and ran immediately. Thank God, she was not at home. We also intervened, but the houses were saved from burning at the last minute with the intervention of the fire brigade."

Gülşen Güngör said, "I was cleaning the house and I was on the 4th floor. A fire suddenly broke out. After that, I called the fire department and we informed the neighbors. It happened suddenly, everywhere was destroyed by the wind. Sometimes they throw something, burn it, you don't know. There are no cameras around, it is unclear who is doing what. Sometimes they throw cigarettes, they come out of everything, you don't know."
