Prosecution of 5 suspects involved in making pirated game 'Sro Tho Quy' and gambling

The group of suspects was accused of stealing the form, content, plot, and images of the game "Silk Road" to create the pirated game "Sro Tho Devil".

On August 17, Bac Ninh Provincial Police said that the Economic Police Department had just prosecuted Nguyen Van Hung, 32 years old, Nguyen Van Phuc, 34 years old and Phan Quang Huynh, 34 years old, to investigate the crime of copyright infringement.

According to the police, in early March, Hung discussed with Phuc and Huynh to create, manage and operate a pirated video game called "Sro Tho Quy" to gain illegal profits. The game operated by this group has the same form, content, plot, and images as the online game "Silk Road".

"Silk Road" is considered one of the most successful games, exclusively distributed by VTC Technology and Content Company in Vietnam.

The police assessed that the release of the game "Sro Tho Quy" had not been approved, licensed for content or script. Furthermore, this game also steals the copyright of other famous games.

Not only infringing on copyright, the police determined that some participants in the game also engaged in gambling in many forms of buying and selling lottery numbers and lottery numbers. All communication and transaction methods take place in cyberspace.

During the investigation of the case, the police also prosecuted Tran Thanh Vu, 32 years old, and Dinh Duc Thang, 31 years old, on charges of Gambling.
