Klopp makes his debut as national coach with seven World Cup drivers and one newcomer

On his debut as national coach, Jürgen Klopp has a German starting eleven with seven World Cup drivers and one newcomer to the international game. Freiburg's Philipp Treu will play as a right-back at the start of the Nations League in Amsterdam against the Netherlands in the evening. The wingers Karim Adeyemi and Kevin Schade are also in the starting lineup. Marc-André ter Stegen, who returns after a long injury break, is in goal for the national soccer team.

The DFB team is led by captain Joshua Kimmich, who will play in midfield again under Klopp. Other World Cup participants include Jonathan Tah, Nico Schlotterbeck, Nathaniel Brown, Felix Nmecha, Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz. Compared to the disappointing World Cup defeat against Paraguay under his predecessor Julian Nagelsmann, Klopp changed the DFB team to six positions.
