7 Million TL Fraud Operation in Konya: Two Suspects Arrested

The incident took place on Thursday in Selçuklu district, Nişantaş District, Arif Çelebi Street. The suspects introduced themselves as police officers and prosecutors to the person they called and ensured that the money, jewelry and a large amount of gold in the house were given to them. When the defrauded person realized that he had been deceived, he reported the situation to the police.

Taking action upon the notice, Konya Police Department Public Order Branch Fraud Bureau teams started working to catch the suspects. It was determined that the suspects, seen in the security camera footage, used two different commercial taxis in order to avoid attracting attention and covering their tracks.

The teams took action for the suspects who were determined to be heading towards Istanbul, A.K. and D.Y.G. were caught on the Bolu Anatolian Highway and taken into custody.

During the search on the suspects, 45 Ata gold coins belonging to the victim, worth approximately 7 million TL, 5 pieces of Reşat gold, 6 pieces of 60 gram Ajda bracelets, 2 pieces of 100 gram Adana burma, 3 quarter gold coins, 1 gram gold, a gold chain and a gold bracelet were found.

In addition, pearl necklaces, bracelets and rings and 14 thousand TL in cash were also seized. A.K. was detained and brought to Konya. and D.Y.G. were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. The two suspects were arrested in court.
