Kozinoğlu's Grave Opens After 15 Years: Suspicious Death Is Being Investigated

In the first wave of the operation, a detention order was issued for the guards in the prison where Kozinoğlu was staying. One of these people is an escapee. There were allegations that when that person pressed the emergency button in the Kozinoğlu ward, he turned the radio volume up all the way and prevented him from being heard.

There were allegations about the process of going to the hospital... In the second wave of the operation, a detention order was issued for 9 people, including an ambulance, prison healthcare workers, a journalist and a cameraman. All these uncertainties will be tried to be revealed within this file, which was taken off the shelf after 15 years.

"Toxicological research will be conducted on the tissue samples taken during the conquest of the grave."

In his statement regarding the Kozinoğlu investigation, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek said that the possibility of murder was also on the table.

Noting that Kozinoğlu was an important official of the state, Minister Gürlek said, "Unfortunately, while he was being detained within the scope of the Ergenekon conspiracy at that time, he lost his life suspiciously despite being a healthy person, doing sports and paying attention to his self-care." he said.

Minister Gürlek stated that he thought the picture would emerge more clearly in the future.

"Evaluations that Kozinoğlu may have been made a target of the organization are also being examined in the file." Gürlek said, "There are debates about the exact cause of his death. Poisoning, heart attack, drug effect or natural death? All of these are being examined with scientific and forensic data." he said.
