The president of the FNSEA, Arnaud Rousseau, declared in a video published on the networks of the first agricultural union, Tuesday, September 22, that he was asking that aid for the purchase of non-road diesel (GNR) increase to 30 cents per liter, compared to 15 cents since April. “Since the start of the week, non-road diesel for agriculture has exceeded 1.50 euros excluding tax per liter, making its acquisition extremely difficult for farmers on the eve of autumn work,” he detailed. • The government is expanding aid. The executive announced on Tuesday a package of measures worth 450 million euros to support the French affected by the rise in prices at the pump. Among them, an extension until the end of 2026 and an expansion of aid for heavy commuters, which should potentially benefit 5.5 million people.
• Donald Trump for banning American diesel exports. The American president declared himself in favor of a ban on fuel exports on Tuesday, while prices have soared due to the war in the Middle East. “This could have a slight impact on the price of regular gasoline,” he added.
• Emmanuel Macron calls for relaxations in Brussels on fuels. The French president asked the European Commission for several relaxations in order to "strengthen" short-term import and production capacities for fuels and gas, including the postponement of the law on methane emissions for one year.
