The number of Ukrainian refugees in Poland is decreasing, and more and more are choosing the Czech Republic and Spain

The latest Eurostat data clearly indicate that some Ukrainian war refugees have recently been leaving Poland.

In July alone, the number of Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection status in Poland decreased by 8.11 thousand in July and amounts to 953.1 thousand. In June, 6.3 thousand people left our country. Ukrainian citizens benefiting from EU temporary protection.

In turn, there were nearly 1.29 million protection beneficiaries in Germany in June. In the Czech Republic it was approximately 381,000. people at the end of June. And our southern neighbor is increasingly the choice of Ukrainian refugees who decide to leave Poland.

High numbers in the July ranking were also recorded in Spain (272.3 thousand), Romania (219.4 thousand) and Slovakia (149.0 thousand). These data come from the published update of the Eurostat database on persons benefiting from temporary protection, introduced in the European Union after the Russian aggression against Ukraine, which began in February 2022.
