'He doesn't attack anyone', says mother
Jade is a drug user and the family had been trying to get her admitted for treatment. According to the mother, the victim had already been through a serious accident, spending 45 days hospitalized between life and death at Santa Casa, which left her with consequences.
"He has a disability in his arm, he has a disability in his leg. He can't handle coming up and giving you a push," said Marisa.
She highlighted that the victim is loved by residents and has no history of violence against other people.
"He is a very loved person here in Barretos, everyone likes him. There are no people who found out about what happened who are happy about it," he said.
The pensioner also refuted the attacker's allegation to the police that the violence was motivated by an alleged cell phone theft. "The guy gave the cell phone in his hand, he wasn't the one who picked up and stole anyone's cell phone," said the mother.
Shaken by the brutality of the crime, Marisa demanded that the authorities locate the second man involved in the attacks. "What I ask for is justice. We have to find the other, it can't be just one."
