Bad weather: orange alert in Tuscany, yellow in 11 other regions

Bad weather arrives in Italy. Today orange alert in Tuscany, yellow in 11 other regions: Abruzzo, Basilicata, Campania, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Molise, Puglia and Umbria. Heavy downpour last night in Rome, with flooding and traffic disruption.

In Tuscany strong thunderstorms with hydrogeological-hydraulic risk of the minor network until 5pm. Possible "strong and locally persistent phenomena, accompanied by gusts of wind and hailstorms". Following the alert issued by the regional civil protection office, most municipalities ordered the closure of gardens and cemeteries and some also ordered the suspension of educational activities.

In particular, schools closed in Livorno, Pistoia and other towns in the province, in Carrara - where even the beaches are closed - and in several municipalities in Lunigiana as well as in Grosseto and various towns in the Maremma. In Florence the markets were also stopped and the "Cascine" stop of the T1 tram line was suspended. In Lucca the mayor ordered, among other things, the closure of the urban walls, in Viareggio the Viale dei Tigli was not passable.
