Bad weather in Veneto: over 100 interventions by the fire brigade due to flooding and fallen trees

The Veneto Fire Brigade has carried out over 100 interventions since this morning due to flooding and fallen trees, while there are around seventy requests still queued in the provinces of Venice, Verona and Rovigo. The most affected areas are Castelmassa in the Rodigino area, Vicenza and Creazzo in the Berico area and the area between Portogruaro and San Michele al Tagliamento in the Venetian area.

In the Belluno area, a wave of bad weather caused numerous critical issues in the afternoon. Seven interventions were carried out for fallen trees on the road, in the municipalities of Falcade, Calalzo di Cadore, Alpago, Belluno and La Valle Agordina.

Furthermore, checks are continuing on the landslide which, during the night, affected the car park area and a section of the forestry road to the Città di Fiume refuge, in the Passo Staulanza area, in the municipality of Borca di Cadore. The Special Operations Group (Gos) is now also involved on site, working together with the dog personnel already present to verify that no people or vehicles were involved under the collapsed material. The teams are still busy in the area to complete the checks and interventions in progress.
