Elections 2026
Brazil has 158.7 million voters eligible to vote this year, according to data from the TSE. The votes will be for president, governor, senator, federal deputy and state deputy (or district, only in the case of the Federal District). All positions have a four-year term, except that of senator, whose term is eight years.
The Senate will renew 54 of the 81 seats (two thirds of the total). And each voter must vote for two different candidates.
In the TSE list, candidates are classified into two main situations: competing or unfit.
Competing:
Deferred;
Granted with appeal;
Canceled with appeal, rejected with appeal or request not recognized with appeal;
Awaiting or pending judgment.
Unfit:
Cancelled, revoked or rejected;
Deceased;
Resignation;
Not aware of the request.
In some lists, the same candidate appears more than once. The TSE informs that it will keep the names duplicated, but will indicate only one of the options as eligible ("running") until election day.
This report was produced automatically with data provided by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) (click here to find out more) and can be updated in the event of a change in the list of candidates for state deputy in Bahia. If you notice any errors, please inform us using the form.

The Federal Attorney General's Office sent a request for an investigation to the Federal Police and the Attorney General's Office based on a report by The Guardian which states that the Trump administration allocated more than US$176 million to initiatives in other countries, including US$1 million to Brazil, supposedly to finance groups that work against the STF and Brazilian Justice. The AGU considers the fact to be serious in view of the ongoing electoral process and requests identification of the beneficiaries to assess criminal liability.

Decisions by the TSE and the STF prevented Lula and Renan Santos from participating in the Globo electoral debate, keeping the pulpit empty and prohibiting questions about those who were absent, generating legal uncertainty and accusations of interference in the organization of the debates.

Ricardo Marques announced his support for Republican candidate Valmir de Francisquinho after the Electoral Court declared the impossibility of maintaining his candidacy for the government of Sergipe, due to Érico Menezes' resignation from the position of vice-governor, based on the indivisibility of the majority ticket by judge Brígida Declerc Fink.

The Campina Grande Traffic and Public Transport Superintendency (STTP) will mobilize around 70 traffic agents at voting locations and will offer free public transport in the electoral rounds of October 4th and 25th, with a fleet of almost 70 vehicles, technical reserve and real-time monitoring via GPS.

Mato Grosso has 255 candidates competing for 24 seats in the State Legislative Assembly, according to the TSE. The list of 23 MDB candidates for state deputy includes names and ballot numbers. The 1st round of the 2026 elections will be on October 4th.

In the first round of elections scheduled for October 4, candidates from the PSTU, União Brasil and PCO carried out their campaign agenda in Macapá with leaflets, meetings, debates and rallies in different locations in the city.
