Last Thursday, 59 suspects, including Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer, Yenişehir Mayor Abdullah Özyiğit and Mezitli Mayor Ahmet Serkan Tuncer, were detained within the scope of the investigations carried out by the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding tender and direct procurement transactions. In addition, it was learned that an investigation was being carried out against Mezitli Mayor Tuncer within the scope of 'management of an armed criminal organization' on the grounds that he had armed attacks on the workplaces of people with whom he had animosity.
